About Us

Connections was established in 1986 in Atlanta, Ga, as a conference planning firm with emphasis on city-wide events. In 1991, the Atlanta Braves Baseball Team attracted nationwide attention going from "Worst to first" and with this newly founded baseball stardom came opportunity for Connections. With interest from out-of-state fans for packages including Braves tickets and hotels, Connections designed our first play off World Series ticket packages. As the team continued to win throughout the years, fans requested affordable and attractive ticket packages for regular season games. Connections now sells over 4000 Braves regular season tickets each year, and handles post-season packages when applicable.

In 1994, the Super Bowl was held in the new Georgia Dome, and more attention was attracted to Atlanta sports. The 1996 Summer Olympics made it official - Atlanta was a sports town and people were traveling from everywhere to share in the excitement. Connections again saw the opportunity to work with sports fans needing hotels and tickets in Atlanta.

In 1998, the Atlanta Convention and Visitors Bureau (ACVB) contracted with Connections to form an all encompassing ticket packaging operation, with sole emphasis on marketing the vast entertainment outlets of the city of Atlanta. It was the ACVB's intent to change the public's view of Atlanta to make it more than just a convention city. Atlanta would now become a vacation city.

With this new joint venture with the ACVB, Connections expanded our ticket/hotel package inventory with strong events like the SEC football Championship, the NAPA 500 NASCAR race, and recently the 1999-2000 Atlanta Thrashers Hockey season.

Other events attracted people to Atlanta besides sports. Concerts seemed to attract visitors as well. In 1999 Connections became a sponsor of Lakewood Amphitheater, and among the more exciting packages offered including Jimmy Buffett, N Sync, Lilith Fair, Dave Mathews Band and the Allman Brothers Band.

Stone Mountain, Six Flags and White Water top the attractions that bring visitors to Atlanta. Connections offers these attractions and more in discount packages New packages include shopping and spa weekends.

Connections still operates the convention planning portion of the company, handling accounts as large as 100,000 people. Corporations associations and educational institutions top the list of accounts that we handle.
